Today I’m thankful for God’s written Word. I can trust it to reveal to me who my Savior is. Through it His splendor and judgment and grace and mercy are known.
And through it I begin to know myself. It is a 2-edged sword that can divide my thoughts and intents. It is a mirror that reveals to me a side of myself that I had never seen before, over and over again. It shows me where I’m lacking and reassures me that I am loved just the way I am.
It is a comforter to me in my sorrow and it leads me in rejoicing His Name. It reveals past truths and warns of the future.
It is a canvas that paints for me a picture of a King, a Lord, a Savior, a Father, a Friend.
