The monster advances
Again and again
To swallow my faith in bits and pieces
It bares its teeth
Again and again
It charges, it creeps, it takes ahold
And the moment my faith would be digested
Again and again
The monster - weakness, compromise, cynicism - The enemy
Is slain by the Master.
He is triumphant
Again and again.

Great theology, Dorci!
ReplyDeleteIt upends the 'onward and upward' picture of the faith and highlights the roller-coaster nature of faith, and life.
But God is there, with us, through it all.
Nice job!
