Pecan Snowballs

1 cup butter flavor Crisco
3/4 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoon milk or water
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup oats
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1/4 teaspoon salt
sifted powdered suger

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Beat first four ingredients until creamy. Add combined flour, oats, pecans, and salt; mix well. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 15 to 18 minutes or until bottoms are light golden brown. Roll in sifted powdered sugar while warm. Cool completely on a wire rack. Reroll in powdered sugar. About 4 dozen.

  2. Those are a "must make" at Christmastime. Just like we have to have cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting for breakfast on Christmas morning. I'll make my next recipe a healthy one, though!

  3. Each year our neighbor would make us a batch of those white, round, gifts from God.

    While they were a bit warm I'd get a tall, chilled, glass of milk and proceed to eat about a dozen of them. Sorta like "Turkish Delight!"

    Now I look at pictures wondering where things went wrong!
