Lessons From the Cross
As Jesus hung on the cross, bloodied and bruised and
agonizing, His thoughts and purpose for us remained steadfast. These are the words He chose to speak as His
last before His work was done and just a few things we can learn from them.
"Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother."
John 19:26-27
He showed us His compassionate provision.
“Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Matthew 27:46
"I am thirsty."
John 19:28
"It is finished!"
John 19:30
He showed us His completed work. There is nothing left for us to do.
"Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."
Luke 23:46
